Sarge

Sarge was surrendered to a small town animal shelter after his human passed away and his human sister couldn’t care for him. He had over stayed his welcome and was on his way to be at risk for euthanasia when he joined our crew. Sarge is 10 years old and doesn't see as well as he used to and has some weakness in his back hips. He was well loved in his life. He knows basic commands and how to hustle humans caring for him. Sarge pretended to be a picky eater and was being given chicken after his refusal to eat dry dog food and several brands of wet food. He eventually moved on to spoon feeding wet Diamond Natural then gradual moved to a plate, put it in a bowl and it would sit for days. He has since decided that dry kibble is acceptable, even in a bowl. Sarge has a dominate personality and prefers submissive dogs or those smaller than him. But he is no dummy and knows when to pick his battels. He is a cranky old man who likes what he likes. He likes kids just fine, they usually have a snack, doesn't mind cats or chickens. He likes to spend his days tricking his fosters into doing his bidding and having naps in random places. He doesn't mind puppies as long as they don't interrupt said naps. Sarge is a great dog and deserves to live the reaming years of his life napping as much as he wants to and eating off a plate as he sees fit
